SHS FBLA students attend State Leadership Conference, earn numerous awards!

Seventy-one Stroudsburg High School students recently attended the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA. They all had one goal in mind; to earn top honors in their event to qualify for the national competition. The conference was filled with over 60 events comprised of presentations, speaking events, and competitive testing.

Stroudsburg FBLA is the largest chapter in the state with 293 members. They earned 1st Place for Outstanding Chapter and 5th place for donations to the state charity, the National Kidney Foundation. During the awards ceremony, the Top 10 winners in each event were presented with a plaque for their achievement.

Stroudsburg had 22 students make the Top 10 in Hershey! Ten advanced to the National Leadership Conference to be held in Anaheim, CA in June (names of those attending in bold!) Here are Stroudsburg’s top 10 winners:

1st Place Karissa Belzer—Coding and Programming
1st Place Taylor Flanagan, Charlie Goehl & Anthony Wong—3D Animation

2nd Place Kwaku Anim-Appiah—Public Speaking 2

4th Place Sara Rose Hernandez—Organizational Leadership

5th Place Rachel Bucci, Marissa Izykowicz & Audrey Razak—E-Business

6th Place Madison Wilson—Future Business Leader
6th Place Livia Marga, Delaney Pinson & Juliet Quartararo—Business Financial Plan
6th Place Conor Savage—Intro to Business

8th Place Maddie Regenye & Hannah Tepper—Business Plan
8th Place Maggie Trunfio—FBLA Principles & Procedures
8th Place Matt Bodon, Teddy Mostellar, Jon Valderrama, Chris Vo & Lucas Wesselius—Parliamentary Procedure

    I think it is so amazing how talented the students at stroudsburg are. Our school puts a lot of effort into FBLA and it’s really awesome all the work payed off!

    I am really proud of this and everyone included in it as well, it’s really nice that they are all participating and having fun while doing it. I hope that they are, at least. I also hope that they use this in the future, after all, it is FUTURE Business Leaders of America.
