Stroudsburg High School has successfully won more awards from the Future Business Leaders of America, also known as FBLA.
Sixty-six SHS students recently attended the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Hershey, PA, with one goal in mind: to earn top honors in their event to qualify for the national competition. The conference was filled with over 65 events such as, presentations, speaking events, and competitive testing.
“Attending the Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference is very exciting because Stroudsburg students have the opportunity to compete against students across the state,” said FBLA adviser Ms. Kathy Sickler. “The conference had approximately 5,000 students in attendance, all competing for the opportunity to go to the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, TX in June. It was a phenomenal experience having 30 Stroudsburg students place in the top 10 in the state and having 18 of those qualify for nationals.”
SHS’s chapter of FBLA performed admirably, with 30 students finishing in the Top 10. Eighteen SHS students are also advancing to the National Leadership Conference to be held in San Antonio, TX in June. See their names below.
Stroudsburg High School’s FBLA is the 5th largest chapter in the state with 142 members. They earned 4th Place for Outstanding Chapter and 2nd place for donations to the state charity, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. During the awards ceremony, the top 10 winners in each event were presented with a plaque for their achievement.
