Student spotlight on Caroline Liszewski

What motivates you to come to school?

My motivation for school is my desire for success. I have a very idealistic future in mind, and I believe that education has many values. I believe that you never stop learning. Your entire life is one big lesson and each day you learn something new.

What are your plans after graduation?

After I graduate from high school I plan to major in bio-medicine. I plan to go to medical school and get my MD. I’m not quite sure yet which field I would doctor in, but I would say that cardiology, oncology, as well as neurology interest me very much.

What values are important to you?

Important values to me are my family, my health, my heritage, and my education. These are four things that go before anything.

What activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of school?

Outside of school I love traveling, reading, spending time with friends/family, snowboarding and I am very active in Polish school.

What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

As I mentioned earlier,I am very active in Polish school (yes, a school where you learn Polish culture, language, history, etc), and last November I took an exam by the name of LOTE (Language Other Than English) to test my literacy in Polish and received the highest score possible which I was not expecting.

Who do you consider your biggest role model, and why?

I would say my biggest role models are definitely my parents. They truly are the most caring, positive, hard-working people I have ever met. I wish to be just as determined and loving as they are. My two other role models would be Marie Skłodowska Curie along with Dr. Zbigniew Religa. They were both strong, intelligent, and committed people who I look up to.

What is your life motto?

I would say my life motto is “Life is either a great adventure or nothing” (Helen Keller). I truly believe that life is too good to waste the one life we have, so we should make the best of it.

What is unique about your personality?

What I think is unique about my personality is that I’m always looking on the better side of things, I never let anything get in the way of me trying to be happy, and I always try to be nice to everyone I meet.

How do you judge a person?

I’m not the type of person to judge someone at first glance, I like getting to know people before having an opinion on them. I think everyone has something good about them, and that the good outweighs the bad.

What is your greatest strength?

My greatest strength would be being meticulous in all the circumstances. I am very precise when it comes to detail, and I’m good at planning every situation out in any environment. I rarely am caught off guard and tend to be very careful with just about anything.
