What activities or hobbies do you enjoy outside of school?

Aside from working at Alaska Pete’s, I am involved in both Karate and Jujitsu. Both play a major roll of who I am and who I am becoming.

How do you judge a person?

To me, how you look and present yourself speaks through. The way somebody is dressed, the way they hold themselves, is always the first impression.

Which charity or charitable cause is most deserving of money?

To me, The March of Dimes Charity is most deserving of money. Their mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature births, and infant mortality. They aim to achieve this goal, by enhancing both the availability and quality of healthcare and prevention services to those women and their babies. This charity means a lot to me, because I was a premature baby. I was born around 26 weeks and did suffer a lot of health issues. Being born premature doesn’t just result in health defects, but also death. The March of Dimes should always be supported and never forgotten.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to attended a 4 year college at ESU or Kutztown to study Criminal Justice. After that, I am going to attend a police academy to become an officer and land in the Undercover Narcotics Field.

What profession doesn’t get enough credit or respect?

Nowadays, police officers never get enough credit for what they do. Every day, all day, they put their lives on the line to ensure your safety.  To most, they are viewed as the “bad guys” but they are the complete opposite. They take the bad off the street in hopes of a positive, safe future.

If there is one thing you could change in the world, what would it be?

The way they act. In today’s age, teens/young adults say whatever they want, to whomever they want, not caring about the feelings of others. There is a very low respect level in teens, and that is something that needs to change.

Who are your favorite teachers and why?

Where most people would commend a teacher run the building, my mind went straight to Mr. Schubert back in SIES (Stroudsburg Intermediate Elementary School). Back in 3rd grade I had him, and he has left a lasting impact on the student I am today. Other teachers such as Mr. Perry and Ms. Rogers are by far my favorites as well, but Mr. Schubert was the very first.

What is something that most people may not know about you?

When looking at me, most don’t believe what I do. I am in karate and Jujitsu, and am studying to become an officer. By just looking at me, a small girl, most don’t know what I truly am capable of.

What is your life motto?

Treat others how you want to be treated. If you are rude to me, I will be rude back; and vice versa.

Who do you consider your biggest role model, and why?

My parents are by far my biggest role models. As cheesy as it may sound, it is true. Growing up, my parents have shown me true respect, manners, and how to be who I am. If we argue, I know that they will always be there in the end. They don’t give up on anything because it’s a hard task, the work for what they want and they work for the life we have.
