Hang on for a minute...we're trying to find some more stories you might like.

Want to know how to write a college essay? What college life is like? Still looking for a college to go to? Well look no further than College Day, an event that will answer all these questions and more!

College Day will be split into two parts on Friday, June 2.  There will be a College Fair, which will be open to all students, and a College Panel, which all current seniors and any junior in National Honor Society (NHS) may attend.

The College Fair is a new addition to the traditional Stroudsburg College Day, and will be held during all lunch periods. There will be tables covering a variety of topics run by NHS and Student Government members.

“They are seniors who have gone through these experiences,” said senior Caroline Volpe, NHS secretary. “Students who are going for sports will work the sports table. People will talk about what they have first-hand experience with.”

There will be tables on numerous topics, including but not limited to: the military, scholarships, financial aid, the common app, sports, music, and art.

In addition to the student-run tables, Northampton and East Stroudsburg University will be offering instant decision for any senior still looking for a college to attend.  In order to find out about one’s instant decision, students must apply beforehand and have their transcript with them.

For students looking to enter right into the workforce, being the military or a business, there are several tables dedicated to that. The Sherman Theater, Camelback Lodge, the National Guard, PHEAA, and PA Careerlink all run their own tables.

The second part of College Day is the College Panel. Taking place 8th and 9th period in the auditorium, alumni students will come back to answer questions about college life.

“It’s something we do every year for NHS,” said Katie Volpe, NHS president.”It’s a tradition where we bring back former NHS members who just went through their first year in college.”

College can be a scary prospect, and the application process can be confusing. So, come and get a taste for what college or the application process will be like. In addition, you’ll get to see former alumni listed below.

I think the college fair is a great opportunity for students. If a student has questions for a school this is a great chance for them to get information on the college they want to go to.
