Check out the free PA Outdoor Festival tomorrow
September 29, 2017
Have you ever sat at a local park and wondered who maintains these beautiful locations? Look no further than The Stroud Region Open Space Commission (SROSRC). Ai??This organization is responsible for keeping many of the area’s parks safe and clean in the greater Stroudsburg area.
SROSRC, commonly known as Open Space, manages 26 parks of all shapes and sizes throughout Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg. Some of the larger parks are Dansbury Park, Stroud Park, and Glen Brook Golf Course.
ai???My favorite park is Brodhead Creek”, said Ms. Sherry Acevedo, SROSRC Executive Director. ai???It is beautiful…the pond, the stream, and we want to keep it that way,” she said.
SROSRC holds many activities throughout the year, and perhaps none is bigger than the one they will hold tomorrow (Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00): The Get Outdoors PA Festival, which will be held at the Brodhead Creek Park. Families can expect to see live animal presentations, walk a nature trail, meet Smokey the Bear, and much more. The event is free to all.
Open Space is also hosting a haunted trail Saturday, October 28 at Zacharias Pond. If interested, visit SROSRC.org
