Walking Through Nature written by sophomore Mehrin Hossain
You imagine being near the downstream
Watching the orange koi swim by
Through the clear fresh water
You see tall trees casting a shadow
Over the great jungle,
Looking above
The baby birds
Of the scarlet macaws
Can be heard
Waiting upon their mother
To be fed
You continue through the wilderness
As you hear the sound of thunder
And the sight of lightening
Feeling the raindrops fall onto your skin
There is an old path of footprints
On the lightly damp mud
As you follow the trail
You come to an end
To the very edge of a cliff
And see beyond
A single ocean
