Primary elections are held by political parties to nominate the candidates who will compete in the general election in November. Pennsylvania primary elections are closed, meaning you can only vote in a political party’s primary if you are registered as a member of that party.

As a citizen, one has the opportunity to vote for candidates on issues regarding healthcare, immigration, equal opportunity, voting rights, education, social security, and much more.
