Whether you like rap, rock, or everything in between, The Sherman Theater has something for you!
The Sherman Theater is a concert venue located on 524 Main Street, Stroudsburg. It is a small, not-for-profit community theater that shows anything from musical acts to comedy shows. The theater boasts many big names that have performed there, including Volbeat, 311, and even Megadeth. If you would like to see a specific act play at the Sherman, you can email the theater.
The Sherman Theater also offers many opportunities to the local youth. It offers internships, jobs, and volunteer work.
The theater also has a smaller venue directly next to it: The Sherman Showcase. The Showcase also holds an open mic night every Sunday night.
SHS senior and aspiring stand-up comic,Taha Vahanvaty performs on Sundays.
“It’s a great opportunity to see local talent,” Vahanvaty said.
Interested performers may start signing up at 6:30 p.m. The Showcase is entirely non-profit, so open mic night is free to all.
If you are ever looking for a local place that shows live music, look no further, the Sherman Theater has it. Also, be sure to check out the Mountaineer’s story on St. Paul and the Broken Bones, hosted right here at our very own Sherman Theater!
