“Coats for Kids” helps keep community warm

During the month of October and November, the Stroudsburg High School English department stationed boxes outside of their rooms for students and staff to donate coats. They ended up collecting about 200 coats to distribute to the community in their second annual “Coats for Kids” fundraiser.

The goal of Coats for Kids is to make sure no child has to go without a coat during the winter. Ai??Once the coats were collected, they were cleaned for free at Brite Cleaners. Then Stroudsburg students from NHS and Key Club helped sort and distribute the coats, which ranged in sizes from infant to adult.

The coats were available to families during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Monday the 23 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The remaining coats will be donated to families through Key Club and Kiwanis. Anyone with questions should contact Ms. Neff Ross.
