2020 Election: Find out how, when, and where you can vote!

PA Voting 411 is a plan to make voting safer and easier

Zachary Koncur, Staff Writer

With Election Day on the horizon, it’s important for those eligible to vote to understand all the facets of the voting process. Aside from voting being every American’s civic duty, it’s important for your voice to be heard. Every vote makes a difference.

The deadline for registration is set at 11:59 p.m. on October 19. The requirements to register to vote are as follows:

  • You must be a United States citizen at least 30 days before the next election.
  • You must be a resident of Pennsylvania and your election district for at least 30 days before the next election.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age on the day of the election.

When it comes to casting your vote, the complications associated with the traditional large gathering at polling centers become obvious. While in-person voting is still an option, mail-in voting has been made available to anyone who can’t reach in person polls for personal or health reasons.

Online registration can be completed at  register.votesPA.com in just a few minutes. For mail-in registration, please visit https://www.pa.gov/guides/voting-and-elections/#RegisteringtoVote for further instruction.

The deadline for submitting a mail-in voting application to the county election office is October 27 by 5:00 p.m. Past that, the deadline to return said mail-in ballot is set at November 3 and must be postmarked by 8 p.m. and then returned to the county election office by November 6 at 5:00 p.m.
