What school do you teach at?
I teach second grade at Chipperfield Elementary School.
What is your favorite part about teaching?
The most enjoyable part of teaching for me is building a classroom community of respect and love. Each year, it is important that our classroom becomes a welcoming place for students who love being there.
What is the best lesson you have ever taught?
A favorite part of teaching is when I see my students engaged and excited about learning.
Sometimes, the best lessons come out of teachable moments that aren’t always perfectly planned, but evolve around student needs or a fantastic idea/thought that emerges along the way.
