What’s a better way to start off 2021 than watching the newly added films on Netflix!

On January 1, the famous streaming network added over 10 new movies onto their platform. Some flicks include famous director Martin Scorsese’s classic gangster films Goodfellas and The Departed, the original true crime story of Bonnie and Clyde, and our childhood favorite, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

So far, the top 10 picks of this month’s newest films include 17 Again at number 6. A post-Disney Channel’s Zac Efron plays a man in his late 30’s trapped in his 17-year-old body trying to fix the mistakes he had made when he was in high school. In the 2009 film, Efron faces some challenges such as dealing with his son’s bully, watching his ex-wife move on, and overall not properly fitting in with the new generation.

At number 8 we have Jesse Eisenberg’s 2011 action/comedy, 30 Minutes or Less. Eisenberg plays Nick, a pizza delivery guy who gets kidnapped by two criminal wannabes who strap a bomb on him, forcing him to rob a bank for them. With time running out, he calls for his best friend Chet, played by comedian Aziz Ansari, to help him figure out a way to rob a bank with their current knowledge of crime movies.

For the rest of the month, Netflix is adding films such as David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on January 5, Robin Williams’ classic kids’ film, Hook, on January 15, and our favorite zoo animals in Penguins of Madagascar: The Movie joining on the 15 as well.

Netflix is also adding new original movies this month. On January 8 viewer can watch Charming, the documentary Pretend It’s a City, and Stuck Apart (Azizler). Netflix is also adding The White Tiger, The Dig, Finding ‘Ohana, and Penguin Bloom later in the month.
