At which school in the district do you teach?

Stroudsburg Junior High School

What subject(s) do you teach?

Health and physical education

What grade (s) do you teach?

8-9

How long have you been teaching at SASD?

I’ve been teaching at Stroudsburg since 2007.

What is your favorite part about teaching?

My favorite part about teaching is my students! I love working with students of all abilities, backgrounds, and personalities and seeing students progress in their skills, confidence, and self-awareness. It really is the greatest feeling to see a student succeed or “get” the lesson.

What is one piece of advice you would share with your students?

The best advice I can give to my students would be to find things that they love doing (things that make them feel better or help them destress or things that are just enjoyable for them) and do those things as often as they can!

What is your favorite quote and what does it mean to you?

“No act of kindness, however small is ever wasted” resonates with me because every day I see teachers and students showing kindness in all sorts of different ways and I’ve seen firsthand how that can make all the difference in the world.

Why did you choose the subject that you teach?

I’ve always enjoyed sports and competing, but I was really lucky to have some really amazing teachers, especially my health and physical education teachers who were really able to influence me and help me value education, physical activity, and the benefits of both.
