For a third straight game and the second time this week, Stroudsburg Baseball and Softball have had their game postponed due to inclement weather.
Both teams were scheduled to make the trip the 40-minute trip down to Allentown to take on Dieruff High School for the only time this season.
Baseball will make up their game against Dieruff on May 1 at 4:00 pm. This will be the first of a back-to-back for the team, playing Pleasant Valley the next day.
Softball will make up their game on May 4 at 4:00 pm. This creates a stretch of three straight games and three games in four days toward the end of their season.
Due to these postponements, the teams will have gone almost two weeks without playing a game, a long stretch, especially at the beginning of the season.
The weather hasn’t just impacted Stroudsburg sports, as the Phillies and Mets had to postpone their Opening Day games last Thursday. The rain has also delayed multiple Major League Baseball games including the Reds-Phillies and Royals-Orioles matchups last night; both were delayed almost seven hours from the expected start time.
Stroudsburg looks to hit the field again with baseball taking on Palmerton at home on Saturday and softball traveling to Delaware Valley on Saturday.
