On Wednesday, Stroudsburg lost to Pleasant Valley High School, 9-8.

This game was scoreless until the top of the third inning, where Pleasant Valley scored three runs against Stroudsburg starter P/INF Damian Budhai. Budhai’s final line is five innings, allowing six runs (three earned), seven hits, and striking out four batters.

Going into the bottom of the sixth inning, Stroudsburg was down 7-5. There were two runners on base as Anthony Knight came to the plate. Knight, 11, hit a 3-run home run to give the Mountaineers an 8-7 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning.

Adding on at the plate throughout the game was INF Paulie Maccarrone, 11, Damian Budhai, OF Ryan Pacitti, 9, and C Thomas Gonzalez, 9, each driving in a run for the Mountaineers. Maccarrone and OF Jackson Brancato, 12, each had two hits in the game, which was more than what the team was able to muster on Monday.

Going into the seventh inning, P/OF Brian Kitchell, 10, was tasked to get the save. He could not finish the game as Pleasant Valley scored two late runs to take a 9-8 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning.

Stroudsburg’s offense wasn’t able to get any in the bottom half of the inning as they suffered their second consecutive loss.

The Mountaineers are now 3-3 on the season and look to bounce back tomorrow against William Allen High School in Allentown.
