Baseball breaks out of slump vs Pocono Mountain West

On Tues, April 16, the Mountaineers defeated Pocono Mountain West, 8-4.

West went on the board early scoring two runs off of Stroudsburg errors, leading 2-1 after the second inning. Stroudsburg would come back to tie it and then break it open in the fourth inning, scoring 6 runs to take an 8-3 lead.

Stroudsburg’s hitting was led by INF Alex Pacitti, 11, who went 3-3 including a double and driving in two runs.

OF Brian Kitchell, 10, drove in two runs on sacrifice flyouts. INF Aidan Brier, 10, P/INF Damian Budhai, 9, and OF Ryan Pacitti, 9, also plated in a run during the game.

Budhai started the game on the mound for Stroudsburg and he was excellent, throwing a complete game.

Budhai struck out eleven Pocono Mountain West hitters while only allowing four hits and four unearned runs. He walked only one batter in his seven innings of work.

Next up for the Mountaineers is Freedom High School today, which is 6-4 on the season.

Expected to start for the Mountaineers is P/INF Anthony Knight, 11. Knight started the game against William Allen last Fri, going a complete game in the loss.
