Freshman Spotlight on Sophia Remollino

The+mountaineer+is+spotlighting+Sophia+today%21
Lile Bekaia
The mountaineer is spotlighting Sophia today!

As of right now, after I graduate High School, I see myself doing…

I want to do something involving art or music. I am leaning more towards art.

Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy?

I like to draw and play the trombone, I love doing Marching band and keeping my reign as the only trombonist in my grade. I also love listening to all sorts of music, my music taste has a very wide span.

Do you have a favorite sport? Do you play it too? Why do you like it?

I enjoy watching Ice Hockey, my favorite teams are the Philadelphia Flyers and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. I went to a Phantoms game earlier this year, I got second row seats. I don’t play any sports, Marching band is the closest thing to a sport I do.

What’s your favorite movie (or show)?

I like Nightmare Before Christmas and Tim Burton movies in general. He has such a unique style of movies and I really like his claymation stuff.

Do you have any pets?

I have a dog named Blooper. He is a Chihuahua-Pit Bull mix. He’s a very playful and nice dog despite the mix of breeds. He doesn’t like strangers or Amazon drivers though.

How do you think you’ll feel in the High School?

I think it’ll be weird at first but I’ll grow into it. I will probably get lost because I have gotten lost in there trying to go to the cafeteria before. Being in the high school will probably make being in the Marching Band easier, though.

What is your favorite class at the Junior High School? Why?

I like Art and Band the most, I think of it as a period where I can relax and do the things I love. English is close behind, too.

What’s your favorite quote?

“Laziness may appear attractive, but work gives satisfaction.” – Anne Frank

Which places would you like to travel to someday and why?

I would like to go to Roswell, New Mexico. Everything is based on Extraterrestrial beings and UFOs and I think it is very cool. It is based on the Roswell Incident, where an alleged UFO crashed 75 miles from where Roswell is today. Even though it was a Military balloon, the town still continues as an alien based town. They have a flying saucer McDonald’s and the street lights are aliens!

What is your most fond memory?

My fondest memories have to be performing at MetLife Stadium and getting my junior varsity letter. I’m not usually nervous about performing because I do it so much, but MetLife has me nervous every time I go.
