On May 8, Stroudsburg defeated Pocono Mountain West, 9-2.

This victory for the Mountaineers clinched their first playoff berth since 2022.

The win also marked the Mountaineers sixth consecutive victory, their longest winning streak since 2019.

P Damian Budhai, 9, shoved on the mound, struck out seven batters in six innings. This outing lowered his ERA (earned run average) to 2.36. He has 36 strikeouts in almost 30 innings pitched this season.

INF Anthony Knight, 11, contributed big time on the offensive side. Coming off a hamstring injury that sidelined him for two games, Knight hit a 3-run home run, his second on the season.

INF Alex Pacitti, 11, OF/P Jackson Brancato, 12, OF Brian Kitchell, 10, and Budhai all drove in runs in the victory. INF/DH Aidan Brier, 10, OF Ryan Pacitti, 9, and C Thomas Gonzalez, 10, also recorded hits.

Up next for the Mountaineers is Phillipsburg High School. Phillipsburg is 12-5 on the season. This is the final game of the regular season for Stroudsburg.

Once this game concludes, Stroudsburg will have to wait until Memorial Day weekend to begin their quest to the District championship.
