Freshman Spotlight on Gabby Acosta

Gabby+Acosta+posing+for+a+picture.
Gabby Acosta posing for a picture.

As of right now, after I graduate High School, I see myself doing…

After I graduate I see myself going to Penn State University to study more in Law and Criminal Justice to hopefully one day become a well-known lawyer.

Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy?

I enjoy walking around with my friends and being outside in general. It has a nice effect on a person’s mental state to just be outside.

Do you have a favorite sport? Do you play it too? Why do you like it?

I really enjoy volleyball. I play with my family here and there. I like it because it’s not that hard to learn and teach and it’s also something that brings people together.

What’s your favorite movie (or show)?

My favorite show at the moment is The Last of Us. I’ve watched the series over and over again and am very excited for the next part to come out.

Do you have any pets?

I have 2 dogs and one fish. My dogs are polar opposites: one being big and nice and the other being small and mean. The fish on the other hand is just a loving beta.

How do you think you’ll feel in the High School?

I think when I finally get to the High School I’ll be excited but slightly nervous due to the change in the environment.

What is your favorite class at the Junior High School? Why?

My favorite class at the Junior high school is my English class. I have English with Ms. Steele and she always finds a way to make her space feel safe and fun for her students.

What’s your favorite quote?

“None but ourselves can free our minds” by Bob Marley.

Which places would you like to travel to someday and why?

I’ve always wanted to visit the Maldives because of that one ocean that has a ton of bio luminous algae which makes some parts appear to be neon blue.

What is your most fond memory?

My most fond memory is when I first came to Stroudsburg from New York. All though I miss New York, everyone here was very friendly when I first got here.
