The most notable item on the September board meeting agenda was the approval of both Mr. Romberger’s and Mr. Burke’s departure at the September 17 meeting.
Mr. Romberger is moving up and becoming a principal at the Brandywine Middle School starting on September 20, just two days after his official departure from the Stroudsburg Area School District.
Mr. Burke, however, will be officially retiring during the second semester of the current school year. His official retirement date is set for January 17, 2025, two weeks after students return from winter break.
Keystone retakes are scheduled for January. The dates were officially confirmed as January 6-8. Students not participating in Act 158, Keystone retakes, PE Boot Camp, or Operation Graduation, will only have to report to school on Thursday and Friday of that week but are expected to participate in asynchronous learning during testing days.
The Lackawanna College program will continue into the 2025-2026 school year. This program applies to students taking; Intro to Business & Sports, Entertainment, & Fashion Management, Intro to Business & Entrepreneurship and Business Management, Accounting 1, Accounting 2, or Accounting 3. Any student who takes one or more of the previously listed classes can take a test for $300 and will be rewarded 3 college credits for each test they pass.
The meeting was brought to a conclusion with the induction of MCTI Student Representative, Dante Velez, and SHS Student Representative, Kona Maronpot– me.
