After 25 years, the iconic “SpongeBob” Krabby Patty is finally available for purchase.
The “Krabby Patty Collab” can be found at Wendy’s due to a collaboration with Paramount.
The meal consists of the “Krabby Patty Kollab Burger” with fries and a new pineapple frosty. This meal retails for $10.79 after tax.
The iconic Krabby Patty contains a burger with American cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions, and the Secret Krabby Patty sauce.
Breyona Velez , 25′, has commented, “ The Krabby Patty is good but underwhelming.”
Velez mentioned the new pineapple frosty stating that “It’s definitely not the best frosty on the menu.” She didn’t have much to say about the frosty other than it had a “weird” flavor.
The Krabby Patty originally comes from the Nickelodeon TV show “SpongeBob SquarePants” which has been running since 1991 with fourteen seasons, two spin off series, movies, and at one point a mobile video game.
In the TV show the recipe has never been mentioned. Viewers know it was invented by Mr. Krabs and brings hundreds of people to the Krusty Krab.
It’s well known that the character Plankton is obsessed with getting the Krabby Patties secret formula. Through wicked schemes, deception, and masterful plans, he attempted to take the recipe to use at his own restaurant the Chum Bucket.
In season five episode “The Great Patty Caper,” the origins of the formula were explained. Before becoming archnemesis, Mr. Krabs and Plankton accidentally created a perfect recipe out of the inedible fish burgers they were trying to sell.
In the show, Plankton is still unaware that he is responsible for the accidental creation of the Krabby Patty and has no way to claim the meal for himself. No matter how close Plankton has come to stealing a Krabby Patty he is always stopped at the last minute.
“I really want to eat it. It’s going to be delectable,” expressed Romeo Santanna, 25’, “I have high expectations. I want to know exactly what it tastes like in the show.” He later added, “If Spongebob doesn’t serve the Krabby Patty to me then I don’t want it.”
So, is the meal worth the hype? Plankton obviously thinks it is and so do the residents of Bikini Bottom.
