Mountaineer staff writer, Rebecca Dishong, is used to spotlighting others as she writes feature stories and senior spotlights for the school newspaper. This time, she has earned her own spotlight.
Dishong, a member of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), recently won Dress to Impress and was awarded $300 as a result. This competition was nationwide and FBLA provided the money for the clothes. Dishong was chosen as the winner out of 100 of her peers.
Jodie Haggerty, FBLA advisor, said, “I am proud of her for being willing to take the time to put forth the effort and very excited for her and our chapter for being recognized and winning. This type of recognition can elevate the chapter’s reputation both locally and at the state/national levels.”
These are the types of things that make Stroudsburg High School well-known in places like Regionals and States for FBLA competitions.
If you see Rebecca in the hallways or in class, do not forget to congratulate her!
