At 5:30 a.m., Donald J. Trump was named the 47th President of the United States of America.
Trump wins the key swing states of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as he defeats Kamala Harris.
He will take over on January 20, 2025.
At 12:45 a.m., Kamala Harris’ campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond told the crowd of Harris supporters at Howard University that she would not address the crowd tonight.
This is eerily similar for some Democrats to Hillary Clinton and her election back in 2016, where she was expected to defeat Donald Trump and wasn’t able to pull it off and her supporters left the watch party in tears and a somber mood.
The same thing has occurred in Washington, D.C. tonight with Harris not addressing her crowd.
Currently, Harris has odds close to zero to win the election. She will address a crowd at Howard University tomorrow.
Donald Trump has gone to his watch party at West Palm Beach to talk to his supporters prior to the final results of the election.
Trump is currently in the driver’s seat to win the election needing Alaska and Pennsylvania or two of Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, and Michigan.
Trump has already won the two swing states of Georgia and North Carolina.
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris head into the final poll closing with Alaska being too early to call.
With a win in Alaska and Pennsylvania, Donald Trump would become the 47th President of the United States.
Vice President Kamala Harris wins the state of New Mexico.
This makes her total at 194, but she still trails Trump, 246 to 194.
With calls from NBC News in Nebraska and Utah, the GOP will now take control of the United States Senate.
The Republicans could also take control of the House of Representatives, which would give Trump a lot more control in case of him becoming President.
Donald Trump has flipped the state of Georgia and has taken its 16 electoral college votes.
Trump won this state in 2016 but lost in 2020 to Biden in what was a shocking result at the time.
This now puts Trump on the doorstep of the Presidency as he needs only 24 more electoral college votes to win.
The Republicans have gained a seat in the house as Rob Bresnahan Jr. has defeated the incumbent Matt Cartwright to win the 8th congressional district of Pennsylvania.
Cartwright has held the seat of Congressman for the last 13 years, but now it flips to Bresnahan, who wins with 51.1% of the vote.
Kamala Harris wins the state of Hawaii.
The Vice President gains another 4 electoral college votes, raising her total to 189.
What comes as a surprise, the state of Minnesota is now reclassified by NBC News as too close to call.
Minnesota, the home state of the Vice President nominee Tim Walz, has been dominated by Democrats forever.
Harris currently leads the state but trails in the election, 230 to 185.
After a little scare, Kamala Harris will take the 13 electoral college votes from Virginia.
It marks another state that has been retained by either party with no flips yet in this election.
Harris trails Trump, 230 to 185.
The first swing state has been called in the 2024 election as North Carolina goes to the former President.
Trump won the state in 2020, his only swing state win in the election, and in 2016.
He now leads Harris 230 to 172 and has a wide path to re-election and a second term.
Kamala Harris wins the states of Washington and Connecticut.
These were both states that Joe Biden won back in 2020.
Harris gains some more momentum and the 19 electoral college votes from the two states. She trails Trump now, 214 to 172.
Kamala Harris wins the state of Oregon.
Harris takes the 8 electoral college votes from Oregon and now starts to gain numbers from democratic mainstays.
The Vice President trails Trump, 214 to 153 in the race to 270 electoral college votes.
Donald Trump wins the state of Idaho.
Trump retains yet another state from his first two campaigns at the White House.
He leads Kamala Harris, 214 to 145 with the swing states remaining.
Vice President Kamala Harris wins the state of California.
Harris wins her home state and the 54 electoral college votes that come with it.
Kamala Harris still trails Donald Trump, 214 to 145 with all of the swing states up for grabs.
Donald Trump has won the state of Nebraska.
Nebraska has the format of voting for President by congressional district and as of right now, Trump will be awarded 3 out of 5 of the electoral votes.
He currently leads Kamala Harris, 210 to 91.
Vice President Kamala Harris is beginning to be on an impossible path to get to the White House.
Currently, Harris trails in key swing states of Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
She has a slim lead in Michigan and trails by a little in some of the aforementioned swing states but she needs to win PA and another swing state to have any chance at the presidency.
Harris will get a boost at the 11:00 p.m. hour with California, Oregon, and Washington.
She currently trails Trump, 207 to 91.
Donald Trump wins the state of Iowa.
After a poll reported earlier last week showed Harris potentially had a chance to win the state of Iowa, Trump again retains.
He now leads Harris, 207 to 91 with a couple more polls yet to close.
Kamala Harris wins the state of Colorado.
The Democrats continue their winning ways in Colorado, gaining another 10 electoral college votes.
Harris still trails Trump, 201 to 91.
Donald Trump retains more states as he wins Montana and Utah.
Trump has neither gained nor lost any states from his 2020 campaign.
He currently leads Kamala Harris, 201 to 81, placing him 69 electoral college votes away from the presidency.
The Pennsylvania Senate race has been reclassified by NBC News as too close to call.
The race between Bob Casey and Dave McCormick has received 38% of the vote so far, with Casey holding a slim lead.
Currently, the Republicans need one seat to gain control of the Senate.
Donald Trump has won the state of Kansas.
This continues the string of states retained by the former President, who has not lost a state from 2020.
Trump currently leads the election, 191 to 81.
NBC News has reclassified the Presidential races in each of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Those are three of the key swing states in this election. They make up the blue “wall”, something the democrats see as critical for them to win the election.
Harris currently leads in all three of the states.
Donald Trump wins the state of Ohio and its 17 electoral college votes.
He was boosted by his Vice President pick J.D. Vance, who is a senator from the state.
Trump now takes a 185 to 81 lead in the election with no surprises nor swing states called yet.
Vice President Kamala Harris is projected to win the state of New York.
Harris gains the 28 electoral college votes from New York and retains the state the Democrats have been a mainstay in for a while.
She now has 81 electoral college votes but still trails Donald Trump, 168 to 81.
Kamala Harris wins the states of Illinois and Rhode Island.
Harris retains two states that the Democrats have won the last couple of election cycles.
Harris still trails Trump, 168 to 54.
Donald Trump adds a couple more states to his total tonight, winning Mississippi and Louisiana.
Trump again retains states from his first two campaigns.
He currently leads Harris, 168 to 30.
As the polls close at 9:00 p.m., Donald Trump takes the states of Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Wyoming.
Trump retains the states that he has won in both of his other campaigns.
So far, no surprises have occurred in the election with no states flipped from 2020.
This now gives Trump 154 electoral college votes, which leads Harris’ 30 electoral points.
The race for the 8th congressional district in Pennsylvania is too close to call as of right now.
The election is between incumbent Matt Cartwright and Republican Rob Bresnahan Jr.
With 26 percent of the vote in, Cartwright leads Bresnahan.
Vice President Kamala Harris wins the state of Delaware, the home state of the 46th President Joe Biden.
The three electoral college votes give Harris 30 on the night. She trails Trump by 75 electoral college votes.
Former President Trump gains another state as he wins the state of Arkansas.
This is another deep south state Trump retains from his first two campaigns.
He now leads Kamala Harris, 105 to 27.
NBC News has reclassified the state of Georgia as too close to call.
This comes a little over an hour after the polls have closed in the state.
Currently, Former President Trump leads Harris in the state.
Vice President Kamala Harris wins Massachusetts, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
This brings her total electoral college votes to 27.
Harris still has a lot of potential states that will go to her but as of right now are too early to call.
Former President Donald Trump has taken the states of Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
Flordia, Trump’s new adopted home, gives him 30 electoral college votes.
Democrats were hoping to potentially flip Florida but Trump gets the state for the third consecutive year.
According to NBC News, the race in between Bob Casey and Dave McCormick is too early to call.
Casey, the incumbent, is seeking for a fourth term in the Senate. McCormick is looking for his first.
This is considered a key race considering in could lead to a flip in the Senate with the Republicans needing now one more seat to take control.
The key commonwealth of Pennsylvania is too early to call as polls close.
Biden won the commonwealth back in 2020 and Trump won it back in 2016.
The Harris campaign has repeatedly stated that the main path to winning the election and getting to 270 is by winning PA.
Currently, Harris trails in key states of Georgia and North Carolina. If those hold currently, Harris would have to win PA to have a chance at the election unless she unexpectedly flips a red state.
According to FOX News, South Carolina has gone to Donald Trump.
Trump won South Carolina in both of his campaigns for the White House.
This gives Trump a 32 to 3 electoral college lead.
Ohio and North Carolina are currently too early to call.
Trump won both states in both 2016 and 2020.
North Carolina is expected to be a key swing state in this election with it’s 16 electoral college votes up for grabs. It is expected that Ohio will go to Trump, getting a potential boost from his Vice President J.D. Vance, the now former senator of the state.
Donald Trump has gained another state, as he wins the state of West Virginia.
This is another state that has been a mainstay for the Republican party, with Trump winning the state in his other two campaigns.
Donald Trump now leads the race to 270, 23 to 3.
The key swing state of Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia are all too early to call.
South Carolina has gone to Trump in the last two elections. Virginia went to the blue party the last two cycles.
Georgia is expected to be a key swing state in this election. It’s 16 electoral college votes are expected to be awarded to one of the candidates tonight. Joe Biden won Georgia in 2020 while Trump won the state in 2016.
FOX News and NBC News have now projected Donald Trump to win Indiana.
Trump has won Indiana in both of his campaigns for the White House.
Trump now leads 19 to 3.
Vice President Kamala Harris wins the state of Vermont, giving her 3 electoral votes.
Vermont, a state that has been a mainstay for the Democrats, goes to Harris to kick off the night.
Former President Donald Trump is the first on the board with 8 electoral college votes, as he wins the commonwealth of Kentucky.
Trump won Kentucky in his last two campaigns for the White House.
