The Stroudsburg High School boys’ and girls’ swim team are having a great season. The swim team captains are seniors, Anna Kirby, Elizabeth Eberz, Peter Leyba, and Sam Sroka.
They recently honored their seniors in a home meet on January 16 against Salsbury. The seniors honored were Anna Kirby, Elizabeth Eberz, Sigrid Burgess, Milan George, Sam Sroka, Peter Leyba, Mia Marga, and Alyssa Rounsaville.
The swim team has a mix of new and returning swimmers this year. All members of the team have been putting in great work and have made lots of progress these past few months. Most of the swimmers competing have reached personal bests. Elizabeth Eberz, senior, says, “I think we have all bonded really well, and have a great team dynamic this year.”
The girls’ team has already passed the amount of wins from last year. For the boys’ side, many of the new swimmers have had great times and have been solid contributors at the meets.
Anna Kirby, ’25, broke two of her very own school records already this season. Kirby is the first female Stroudsburg High School swimmer to swim the 100 backstroke race in less than 1 minute.
