The 2025 Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs is only days away. There will be parties held all over the country to watch this favorited event and the food is just as important as the game. Is your menu ready?
Different foods define a party. A various selection of Stroudsburg students listed the one food that defines their Super Bowl party.
A poll of ten students found that three students preferred wings, three students preferred nachos, and four students preferred other foods.
Chicken wings have been a popular sports food. In a poll from The Poultry Federation, it is estimated that Americans will consume about 1.47 billion chicken wings for the upcoming Super Bowl.
“I think that wings are standard football food, and they are a classic! My favorite sauce is McHale’s sauce(Barbeque),” exclaims Amanda Nicholson, a world language teacher.
There are franchises devoted to specifically chicken wings like “Buffalo Wild Wings,” or “Wingstop.” According to The Poultry Foundation, wings started becoming popular as a football food in the 1990s, when the Buffalo Bills played in the Super Bowl for four consecutive years. Buffalo chicken wings were first made in Buffalo, New York.
Nachos were another popular food among the students. Nachos can be made personal, or shareable, and are a good customized snack.
“Nachos are a shareable food. You can make platters or everyone can customize their own individual plate,” says Sophie Best ‘26.
There are more store bought ingredients for nachos like lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and beans. Stores also celebrate by offering deals and special displays. The Shoprite of Stroudsburg builds a chip and soda display every year and they also offer themed cakes in the bakery for the big day.
Other foods ranged from Buffalo chicken dip to pigs in a blanket. You can look online for recipes or you can create your own. If you’re still looking for ideas, check out Food Network‘s suggestions.
