A security officer’s life typically involves a mix of personal time and professional development, which involves staying alert to ensure safety in various settings. Have you ever wondered what a Stroudsburg High School (SHS) security officer’s life looks like after school hours? We asked the students’ favorite, Officer A. Rodriguez, what his after-school hours are like on a day-to-day basis.
Q: What do you do at home?
A: I go home to my family and work around the house. Whatever the wife wants me to do; I’ll do it. I help my daughters with things and fix their cars (change the oil, tires, etc.).
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: I love to play with my guitar and listen to music. I also enjoy watching football, my favorite team is the Minnesota Vikings. I used to play football, but now I just watch it for fun.
During the holidays, Officer Rodriguez plays the bass guitar during the Annual Christmas Show and performs some Christmas songs for the high school.
Students enjoy his time, jokes, and attention; all of the qualities that make him a good security officer at SHS.
Although school is no longer their top priority, they remain mentally alert, always ready to return to their safety roles the next day.
Whether they spend time with family, relax, or engage in hobbies, they always make sure to recharge and enjoy a well-deserved break before the responsibilities of another day begin.
