On Monday, the Girls’ basketball team won over district rival Pocono Mountain West for the second time this season.
Earlier in the season Stroudsburg completely crushed the Panthers 55-16, they still considered this a tough game. Going into the game. West’s record of 7-14 needed one more win to qualify for districts.

The game was close throughout the first and second quarters until the Mountaineers took the lead during the third. The Panthers put forth one of their best performances, but the Lady Mounties secured the win 63-41.
McKayla Strunk, ’25, scored 27 points in this game. Emily Bozena, ’25, scored 11 points in this game. Adriana Borizo, ’26, had 8 points this game.
This is the last game of the regular season. Some of the players were asked what was their favorite memory of the season.
Emily Bozena’s favorite memory is when she hit her high score of 27 points and was nominated as Athlete of the Week for Blue Ridge.
McKayla Strunk’s favorite memory is when she hit her 1000th point and said,¨It’ll be a game I´ll remember forever.¨
Adriana Borizo’s favorite memory is hitting her season-high 16 points against Pleasant Valley. She also mentioned her scoring the point that led them to their highest-scoring game of the season.
The Mountaineers’ final record of the season is 18-4. The EPC semi-final is today against Parkland at Parkland High School.
