The Stroudsburg varsity boys’ tennis team dominated Whitehall High School with a decisive 6-1 victory on Monday, March 17, 2025. This impressive win propels the Mountaineers to a 3-2 record on the season as they strive to turn the page on last year’s disappointment and push toward a stronger finish.
In singles play, the Mounties delivered commanding performances:
- 1st Singles – Logan Casebolt (‘25) defeated Jose Jimenez (‘27) with a solid 6-2, 6-3 victory.
- 2nd Singles – Tobias Ricks (‘26) put on a clinic, shutting out Talha Ahmed (‘25) 6-0, 6-0.
- 3rd Singles – Mason Ulmer (‘27) didn’t break a sweat against Derek Jimenez (‘25) with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win.
The doubles teams continued the momentum, showcasing strong chemistry and precision:

- 3rd Doubles – Darius Quintana (‘27) and Dhyey Savaliya (‘26) secured a more brutal fought 6-4, 6-2 victory over Ryan Stroble (‘27) and Sam Herring (‘27).
With this impeccable performance, the Mountaineers bounced back from a very close loss against the 2-3 Pocono Mountain East, a match that tested their heart, mind, and ability. This win serves as a major morale boost as the team continues to build momentum for the rest of the season.
Last season, Stroudsburg finished with a disappointing 5-10 record. However, senior Logan Casebolt remains hopeful about the squad’s potential this year. “Last season didn’t go how we wanted, but I truly believe we have the right pieces to take that next step and be great,“. With nearly half the roster comprised of new talent, the Mountaineers are hungry to make a statement. The Mounties are looking to have their first winning season since, the 2021-2022 season.
Up next, Stroudsburg hits the road to take on Allentown Central Catholic on March 19, 2025, before returning home for a matchup against Nazareth High School on March 21, 2025.
