Stroudsburg High School’s (SHS) annual Career Expo took place March 21, 2025 in the gymnasium during the first three periods.
Seniors went down first period, juniors went down second, and sophomores were able to see it during third period.
Local colleges, jobs, and even the military came to the SHS to introduce students to careers or pathways that they might one day want to pursue.
Chudi Ogbolu, ’27, liked the idea of having so many opportunities available to him. He liked exploring and seeing the many possible career paths he could pursue in life.
East Stroudsburg University (ESU) was a popular college and it had nine booths:
- Art, Media, and Design at ESU
- ESU Education
- ESU College of Health Sciences
- ESU Computer Science
- ESU Hospitality and Tourism
- ESU Language
- ESU Math
- ESU Political Science, Public Admin, and Economics
- ESU Theatre

One of the women at the Art, Media, and Design booth spoke about how the teachers at ESU want you to succeed and it’s a very positive environment. Many of SHS’s teachers graduated from ESU and have great things to say about the college.
Michael Frounfelker, a history teacher at SHS, graduated from ESU and when asked to comment on his experience there, he laughed and recollected, “It was a fantastic eight years.”
There were also multiple booths for the military and police:
- US Army National Guard
- US Marines
- PA State Police
- Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department
- Tobyhanna Army Depot
- United States Air and Space Force
- United States Army
The US Marines booth was holding a plank competition and was giving away t-shirts to people who could hold their plank for four minutes and 30 seconds.
Many people were interested and most attempted the challenge.
One baseball player, George Binikos, ’27, held his plank for more than four minutes. He thought the career expo was “very good” and loved the shirt he received for doing his impressive plank.
Overall, the students are looking forward to these opportunities next year!
