On 572 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA is an authentic Mexican restaurant called EZ Taqueria, which has been increasing in popularity among students.
They serve tasty Mexican dishes from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Recently, students have been going to the restaurant after school and extracurricular activities to spend time hanging out with friends. Having been there multiple times, I can say that the food is high quality and it is consistently tasty.
For the amount of effort put into the food, it comes out fairly quickly. The restaurant provides a welcoming environment and vibrant atmosphere. The people there are accommodating and nice, even providing me with a free meal when I was struggling to pay.
“Their food is really good and very authentic Mexican food which you can’t really find around Stroudsburg, but it’s really on the pricey side compared to other restaurants,” said Delany Jimenez ‘27.
There is a popular term in business, “location,” many businesses locate themselves strategically. They always look for high foot traffic, good parking, and high visibility– that is definitely the case for EZ Taqueria.
The restaurant is located a quarter of a mile from the school, which for most is only an eight minute walk or so, and there are multiple businesses surrounding the restaurant that could attract newcomers.
For example, popular gym for students at Stroudsburg, Muscle Inc. is located only a block away from EZ Taqueria. Consequently, it’s safe to assume that people would come out of the gym hungry and conveniently located right next to them, is a delightful Mexican restaurant.
Frequent gym-goer at Muscle Inc, Jacob Warner,’27, has this to say about the restaurant, “Every-time I go there, it fills me up with joy…” “… You don’t have to walk very far from the gym to get good food; plus I think it’s fairly priced.”
Another regular Muscle Inc member, Carter Englert, ’27, has this to say about the restaurant: “The restaurant is very good, all of the meals taste great. And I’ve been there numerous times this year with a couple of my friends from the school like Tyler, Etka, and Jan; it’s been a pleasant experience.”
Evidently, EZ Taqueria’s location is working out perfectly. It seems to be a popular spot among students that go to the gym. However, what about students that don’t go to Muscle Inc?
After school, students often wander to surrounding ecclectic shoos on Main Sreet. They might go to stores to shop, cafes, food spots, and maybe sit down spots. The point is, a business being located in close proximity to a school is clever, especially when they sell food.
When asked his opinion on the restaurant, Andy Oliva, ’27, said, “The flavors and spices are authentic and the juices and seasonings are intoxicating in a good way.”
However, a statistic from our most recent SHS Mountaineer News poll sthiwed that 25 percent of people actually went to EZ Taqueria and liked it, and a vast majority have never gone, that being 71%. So it appears that the restaurant is popular among students that go to the gym, but maybe not as many students from the school have gone–yet.
The restaurant does serve good food at an decent price. If you do find the price a bit iffy, the flavor makes up for it. Genuinely, EZ-Taqueria has given me a good experience through the quality of their food and their great hospitality. So, with that said, if you are someone who has never been there, consider giving it a try; it’s worth your time and money.
