The Stroudsburg boys’ tennis team trounced Bethlehem Catholic 5-2 on Friday, March 28, 2025. This win helped the Mounties bounce back from three straight losses to move to 4-5 this season.

The Mounties needed this win after losing against Allentown Central Catholic 7-0, Nazareth 5-2, and Easton 6-1. This victory helped the team’s morale rebound. Thankfully this match pushed the Mountaineers closer to that 500 record on the season. Their overall improvement has been noticeable, especially in doubles play, where their chemistry and communication have significantly improved.
Tobias Ricks, ’26, remarks on the team’s improvements: “Watching the team improve in my absence has been great to see. Watching this team, I can see something is there, and I can’t wait to see the rest of the season.” Tobias has been on the team since his freshman year, 2022-2023, and has been participating in matches since.
The Mountaineers’ next matchups are on April 4, 2025, against East Stroudsburg South at home and on April 7, 2025, against Freedom High School, away. The Mountaineers have only 5 games left to secure themselves a playoff spot for the 2025 EPC Playoffs. With determination and continued growth, their chances of reaching the postseason look promising.
