On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the Stroudsburg boys’ baseball team defeated the Pleasant Valley Bears by a score of 9-5 at Coca-Cola Park. This game marked two wins in a row for the Mounties and improved their season record to 3-2-1.
In the first inning, the Bears struck first, scoring two runs off pitcher Damian Budhai, ’27. In the third inning, both offenses ignited, with each team scoring two runs, bringing the score to 4-2 in favor of Pleasant Valley.
Despite being down, the Mounties rallied, scoring four massive runs in that inning, flipping the score to 6-4. This proved too much for the Bears to handle as the Mounties added three more runs in the sixth inning, extending their lead to 9-4. The Bears managed to score one more run in that inning, but it was too little, too late. The Mounties closed out the game in the final inning, securing a 9-5 victory.

Paulie Maccarrone, ’25, showcased a combination of speed and power, going 1-for-4 with a triple and a run.

Alex Pacitti, ’25, had a stellar day, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs, and one walk.

Luke Powanda, ’28, displayed his potential, going 1-for-2 with two runs and a walk.

Ryan Pacitti, ’27, was on fire, going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, three runs, and a walk.

Anthony Knight, ’25, demonstrated his power, going 1-for-3 with three RBIs and a walk.
As a team, the Mounties batted .310 with nine hits and nine runs.
Starting pitcher Damian Budhai delivered an outstanding performance, pitching a complete game of seven innings with eight strikeouts, two walks, three hits allowed, and a 3.00 earned run average (ERA).
This victory marked the Mounties’ third win of the season, moving their record to 3-2-1 and placing them first in the Eastern Penn-Mountain Conference.
Ryan Pacitti stated, “I feel like after this win, it will encourage s to keep playing hard and keep us in that 1 spot. We just have to remember to keep having fun and playing the game the way that we have been.”
They face a crucial matchup against the 2-3-1 Whitehall High School team on Friday, April 4, 2025, at home. The game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
