Stroudsburg Volleyball went against Dieruff High School for a home game at 5 p.m. on September 11, 2025.
Dieruff put up a surprising fight against the JV team, throwing the girls off in the first game, but the Mountaineers managed to finish with the winning score, 2-1. Kamila Wszolek, ’28, accomplished serving seven consecutive aces.
Juliette Perich, ’29, saved the team with some impressive blocks and around 15 attacks, while Assunta McCarthy, ’29, perfected her spikes. Both of these commendable athletes play on the JV and Varsity teams.
Later during the Varsity game, Dieruff’s motivated players put up a tough fight and won the first game. Stroudsburg made a quick comeback to tie, 1-1.
Vicious Madelyn Vargas, ’27, one of the key players in the game, had an almost endless amount of strength in her arm to keep spiking the ball; she had more than 20 attacks.
Credit also goes to Olivia Full, ’26, who kept setting up the ball perfectly. Tori McCarthy, ’26, also achieved more than 20 attacks against Dieruff.
Ava Jasinski, ’26, who is the manager for the volleyball team commented on being “a part of the family behind the scenes.” She shared, “It’s great being able to cheer them on, help out where I can, and share all the little moments that make the season special.”
They managed to keep the lead and ended the final game very close, with Stroudsburg ultimately winning 25-23 and 3-1 overall.
