Stroudsburg’s Field Hockey team went up against Nazareth on September 9 at 4 p.m. They took a loss with a 0-3 score, but they didn’t go down without a fight.
Stroudsburg scored four goals in the game. Georgie English ’26, Emma Dreisbach, ’28, Gracelyn Barzev, ’28, and Peyton Witmer, ’28, all attempted one shot, but unfortunately, they were all blocked.
However, that didn’t stop Tess Nowosad, ’26, from blocking seven shots produced by Nazerth’s side. Though Nazerth got one goal in the first half and two more in the second half, Stroudsburg gave their utmost effort to keep them at bay.
On September 11, they faced Emmaus, where they suffered a tough loss, 0-10.
Emmaus scored 8 points in the first half and another two in the second half. Grace Conye, ’26, attempted one shot; however, it was cut off. Tess Nowosad, ’26, was able to save 14 shots, and Sophia Craig, ’26, saved 1.
Fortunately, the Stroudsburg Mountaineers came back from their losses and won 9-0 against the Bethlehem Catholic Hawks on September 15. Both Emma Dresibach 28’ and Gracelyn Barzev, ’28, scored three goals, making a significant impact. Olivia Selena, ’28, saved two goals.
Lenna Neri commented, “We definitely had a rough start, but I know our team will win the next few games.”
We wish the best of luck to the team on their upcoming games this season!
