The 2025-2026 Stroudsburg Boys Soccer season has come to an end, although the numbers convey a vivid sense of defeat, the true story tells a different tale. In summary, the season was a rollercoaster and required immense grit from each player to keep moving forward through the schedule. 7-9-2 was the team’s ending record. With a required 9 wins to reach the playoff stages, the team was far closer to playoff contention than what was initially believed.
A rollercoaster is the most accurate way to describe this season. The team did so-so towards the beginning, showing positive signs. And towards the middle, multiple tough games were fought and lost. At this point, the numbers showed a downward trend; however, in the last stretch, Stroudsburg Boys’ soccer had an amazing run.
With a tie to Easton, a tough team that tied and won against teams against which Stroudsburg struggled, highlighting the development of the team. And a gritty win against the derby team, East Stroudsburg South, where the team was able to finally hold their head up high with pride.
With this win, they proceeded to take victory 3-1 against Bethlehem Central Catholic, away. Sequentially, with a tie against a top team and a win against rivals, Stroudsburg headed into their final match with the readiness to tussle. The ending, unfortunately, wasn’t as fairy tale as the team had wished. And they took a loss to Pleasant Valley 1-5. For the most part, it was an incredibly close match-up until a couple of mistakes that ultimately spiralled into a sad loss.
Despite the hard ending, the team said their goodbyes to the class of 2026 seniors on the field, and a heart-warming speech was given by head coach Beebe to top off the season.
Goodbye, but not forever, to the amazing seniors who were good friends, teammates, leaders, and inspirations: Matias Dunia, ‘26, Juandavid Carpintero, ‘26, Zachary Sanchez, ‘26, Michael Castillo, ‘26, Kaidhn Schatzman, ‘26, Sandy Gravesandy, ‘26, Bella Farda, ‘26, and Gianna Bunelle, ‘26.
This season was a tale of heartbreak and loss, but also one to commemorate. There were glimmers of a strong team and glimpses of hope. So with this, the team should hopefully look towards the future, hold their heads up high, and may the odds forever be in their favor for the upcoming season.
