Long hours in school are draining

Kendall White, sophomore

An aspect that could be improved is the number of long hours students are in school. School should start at 8 a.m.Ai??and end at 2 p.m. A total of 6 hours. Starting school at 7 in the morning is hurting the youthai??i??s health. According to most physicians, a teenagers body doesn’t start to wake up until 9 in the morning. Making students wake up at 5 a.m. is catastrophic for their brain activity. With their bodies not fully functioning ,it harms their learning skills, focus and patience. This is one of the reasons why teens are seen sleeping or daydreaming during class. This is also why students taking tests in the morning are not as focused as the tests taken in the afternoon. I would improve the amount of hours by making the day shorter. I would take out 5 minutes from every period and also include homeroom. This would give the administration an extra 50 minutes of time to start implementing this change.
