On Friday, October 8, the Mountaineer newspaper set up a table at the annual activities fair in the gymnasium to promote its award-winning publication. In addition to enjoying the old newspapers and tri-fold poster on display, SHS students were encouraged to participate in the candy corn contest.

A plastic container filled with candy corn was on the table, and students took guesses as to how many were in the container. Approximately 500 students participated. They wrote their guesses on slips of paper along with their names. The three closest guesses were chosen as the WINNERS. They will receive Wawa gift cards.

The total number of candy corn included inside the container was 1,103.
