One of the most anticipated events of the year other than Super Bowl LVIII was the Jake Paul VS. Mike Tyson fight on November 18, 2024. Netflix drew 60 million viewers for their live stream event, and based on the SHS Poll, 90 percent of you picked Tyson to win.
According to NBC News, this high-profile match was originally supposed to happen on July 20, 2024, but was postponed to November 15 because of an ulcer flare-up. Tyson was advised to put his training on hold for a few months.
The event took place in the AT&T Stadium in Arlington TX. Paul and Tyson fought the full 8 rounds, each round lasting 2 minutes. Jake Paul scored better than Tyson in most rounds. In fact, Bleacher Report states that Tyson landed zero punches in rounds four and six. Even so, Tyson still took home a reported $20 million. Divided by 16 minutes, that calculates to $1,250,000 per minute.
The final scores at the end of the fight were 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 making Jake Paul the winner, Paul is 30 years younger than Mike Tyson, and Tyson, at 58, hadn’t fought in 19 years making this spectacle the chatter of Monday morning– and of course, the Netflix streaming issues for their live stream event.
According to MSN and co-founder of Doordash, Andy Fang, he saw more food being ordered during the fight than the Super Bowl.
Now that’s a knockout!
