Yesterday, the SHS Lady Mountaineers won over district rival Pocono Mountain West Panthers in an EPC Mountain division game.
SHS took a 15-point lead during the first quarter with a score of 20-5.
Teagan Strunk, ’26, led the first 3 quarters with 11 points and ended with a total of 13 game points.
By the end of the third quarter, Stroudsburg led 51-16 and did not let the Panthers score again. SHS dominated the clock and court for a final score of 55-16.
McKayla Strunk, ’25, finished the game with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Strunk is close to hitting the 1000-point career milestone.
Adriana Borzio, ’26, chipped in for 10 points. She is also in the running for Athlete of the Week in the Pocono Record. She is being applauded for her outstanding performance against William Allen where she scored 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 steals in a 53-41 win against the Canaries.
This marks the halfway point of their season; the Lady Mounties are now 11-3.
