The Mountaineers defeat East Stroudsburg North 9-0.
In the first three innings, Stroudsburg was up 1-0 from a single by Dorothy “Dot” Elko, ’26, that brought in Elena Trotter, ’25. Stroudsburg gained a bigger lead with Katren Lavra, ’26, Ava Fagan-Huse, ’27, and Dot Elko, adding to the score.
Madison Perez, ’26, hits a single and advanced on an error by North’s left fielder and brought Jordan Cook, ’27, in to score. Lavra, doubled to centerfield to score Perez, making it 7-0 Stroudsburg.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Morgan Callender, ’27, hit a two-run homerun for a final score of 9-0 Stroudsburg.
North went down n order in the last inning, on a turned a double play by Izzy Molinero, ’25. Cook, closed out the game with a strikeout. Molinero made a great diving catch and got the batter out at first base.
In this game, Stroudsburg pitcher Jordan Cook, ’27, struck out five batters in a no-hitter.
Coach Hanna shared that he feels great coaching “the best sport.” Stroudsburg ended the game with zero errors, though North had five.
