Stroudsburg Boy’s Soccer crushes their season opener away at East Stroudsburg North on August 26, 2025. Varsity captain, Gabe Ferguson, ’27 ended the first half of the varsity game with a hat trick to put Stroudsburg up 3-0. And in the second half the score was put to 4-0 by Freshman, Liam Piltcher, with his first goal for the team; securing the well deserved victory.
Stroudsburg’s defensive players consisted of the two center backs, Andrew Paxson, ’27 and Aaden Mercado, ’27, and a right and left outside back, Michael Castillo, ’26 (played in the second half), Julian Cuzco, ’28, Eoin Sheehy, ’27 and Alexsander Lamberton, ’27. They all did well to cut off most of North’s attacking plays; resulting in minimal shots taken. And giving an awfully silent game for the goal keepers Dominic Decusatis, ’27 (Varsity captain) and Evan VanBuskirk, ’28 who played their parts to distribute the ball with quality.
The attacking mid-field consisted of Varsity captain, Kaidhn Schatzman, ’26 Matias Dunia, ’26, Reagan Scelza, ’27 and Carlos Quizhpi Fajardo. ’27. They had quality distributing of the ball to the center forwards and wingers, Wyatt Kish, ’27, Zack Sanchez, ’26 and Juan Carpintero, ’26 who overall did a solid job pressuring North’s defensive backs; the offense gained multiple significant attacking opportunities due to the well played passes from the middle players.
Boy’s Soccer coaching staff, James Beebe (Head Varsity Coach) and Josh Fuller (Assistant Varsity and Head Junior Varsity Coach) are entering this 2025-2026 season with a new mindset. They want to turn this soccer team’s ship right around; tired of an uncoordinated team composition and most of all, tired of having losing seasons. Coach Beebe wants to turn the tides and achieve a season where Stroudsburg knows victory better than defeat. Him and Coach Fuller have done a great job putting together a team that works well with each other and practicing a successful game philosophy.
