Mountie Minute officially went live for the first time on September 29. The two hosts Kara Schomberg, ’26, and Jermaine Watts, ’26, introduce themselves in the beginning of their lives and talk into the Pledge of Allegiance.
Once they’re done with this they announce cycle day, sport news, academic news and what clubs are meeting everyday.
Lucas Pelaez, ’27, announces the lunch menu of the day and the anchors who turn it over to Matteo Maccarrone, ’26, for the weather.
As of October 2, 2025, Jeffery Sodl, the principal of Stroudsburg High School (SHS), has been going back to doing the pledge of allegiance and announcing the rotation day. This led to Mountie Minute starting for the day. This will continue for the rest of the year.
They used to have weekly Mountie Minute posts every Monday which would be played in homeroom, but with them going live Mountie Minute will be live every day.
In a short interview with Sarah Cepin, the advisor for the Pioneer yearbook and Mountie Minutes, explains how much easier it is to go live compared to having to pre-record videos.
They receive an envelope from Mr. Sodl which they obtain daily information to read from.
Since they go live, they no longer post Mountie Minute videos on their Youtube channel once a week.
A live broadcast of course will have its pros and cons. The only cons noticed so far are some technical difficulties with sound which delays the live stream and delays students time to do other work they may want to do during homeroom.
Even with these minor inconveniences, they are still able to produces live news for the student body.
