Being considered one of the best boxers in the world is no easy feat. It takes hard work, dedication, and even then a little bit of luck.

Since the start of his career, Canelo Alvarez proved to be a skilled boxer, emerging as the 2004 ‘Junior Mexican National Boxing’ Silver Medalist.

The following year, Alvarez took home the Junior Mexican National Boxing championship title, and he has never looked back since. Shortly after the win, he turned professional — winning most of his fights.

As a youngster, Alvarez took on one of the greatest boxers of all time, Floyd Mayweather. Inexperienced as he was, he battled Mayweather for 12 rounds. He lost a majority decision.

The Mayweather loss is the only one of Alvarez’s career. His record stands at (57-1-2). He currently holds the WBA, WBC, WBO belts, and he is The Ring super-middleweight champion.

Pound for pound, Alvarez is considered one of the best boxers in the world. He has become an inspiration for Mexicans and Hispanics around all over the globe. By being one of the best, he has shown that anyone can accomplish their dreams.
