The Parallels writing club meets every Wednesday from 2:30-4 in C125 with Ms. Shari Griswold. Though attendance is not mandatory, it is encouraged.

In the club, students perform different writing activities and work off of prompts. They then share and critique each others’ work. Examples of their previous prompts include: waking up with a tattoo you don’t remember getting, creating your own monster, creating a new word, and fairy tale rewrites.

Currently they are working on a progressive “you choose” story with multiple authors. These stories are structured by being given multiple options on how you could continue the story, which usually contain many different endings. After that, they will begin working on their one sentence mysteries.

Parallels is currently taking art submissions, black and white photographs in jpeg format, short stories, poems, songs, essays, and novel excerpts for their literary magazine, Parallels. Submissions are all due April 25th, and can submitted to [email protected].
