After a tremendous season for the The Mountaineers, junior Madelyn Vargas and senior Dorothy Elko have announced they will be continuing their softball careers at Rider University.

Rider University is a private college in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. It is known for its high performing athletics.

Riders accolades include four conference championships and two NCAA Division I tournament appearances. Their most recent conference title was won in 2003 in the Metro Atlantic Conference. Many of the student-athletes earn national academic recognition, such as the NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors for maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Vargas and Elko received First Team and Second Team EPC Monroe Division catcher and utility player. Elko worked hard her senior season with her work behind the plate as a four-year varsity player and Vargas with her range in the outfield and on the mound returning to softball after competing in track last year.

Their exceptional achievements on the field and commitment to athletic excellence have left lasting impressions on the Stroudsburg softball team. Stroudsburg wishes you both well in all your future athletic and academic success!
