The Stroudsburg Varsity Mounties defeated Delaware Valley 11-1 on Wednesday, Apr. 29. Dorothy (Dot) Elko, ’26, collected four hits for four at bats. She hit a single in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, a home run to left field in the fourth inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

At the top of the first inning, two runs were scored thanks to two hard-hit singles. Elko singled, scoring the two runs. In the second inning, Madelyn Vargas, ’27, homered to center field and Isabella Thomas, ’26, grounded out to scored two runs. The fourth inning was explosive. Five runs were scored thanks to Elko homering to left field and Morgan Callender, ’27, singling to score two runs.

Jordan Cook, ’27, was the winning pitcher. She gave up three hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings. She had six strikeouts and two walks.

Stroudsburg Varsity Mounties amassed 13 hits and five walks in the five-inning game. Katren (Kat) Lavra, ’26, collected multiple hits for the team.

The girls will play Pocono Mountain West on April 30, 2026.
