Stroud Region Open Space offers summer activities

The weather is getting warmer, summer is around the corner, and school’s almost out! Everyone will have some free time on their hands. What a great opportunity to go have some fun at Stroud Region Open Space!

Stroud Region Open Space & Recreation Commission connects with the community through its parks, recreational programs, recreation amenities, and natural areas throughout the Stroud Region. As a part of this communication, Open Space provides the community with different programs that young children, teenagers, and adults can enjoy.

A few of these programs include Leaders In Training (LIT), Stroudkids Camp, TOTS program, Kids Camp, Before and After Care, and VETS Youth Development Program. All these programs are a part of Stroudkids Camp which is geared towards serving children and teens ages 4-15.  The camp runs from June 17 – August 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Leaders In Training is an eight-week program located at Morey Elementary, Dansbury Park, and Stroudsburg High School for teenagers ages 13-15.  The cost is $305. The TOTS program is an eight-week program located at Morey Elementary for children ages 4-5 for a weekly rate of $100.

The Kids Camp program is an eight-week program located at Morey Elementary, Dansbury Park, and Stroudsburg High School for children ages 6-12. The weekly rate is $100 or eight weeks for $640.

There is also a Before and After Care program is an eight-week program for children ages 6-15 with different paying options. The VETS Youth Development Program is a program located at Dansbury Park for children ages 7-12 with a total cost of $120 for 12 classes or a $15 drop-in fee. This program runs every Monday and Wednesday starting June 26 – August 2 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
