Led by Coach Gene Tapiro and Assistant Coach Ceal Yost, the 2024 boys’ tennis team is off to a strong start. The 2023 team graduated several varsity players but Will Puskar, 12, and Terrell Butler, 12, have returned.

Unfortunately, Connor Potochnick, 11, suffered an injury early on but hopes to return before the season ends.

After beating East Stroudsburg South last week, 4-2, the team is now 4-4 overall.  Although the team is young, many are experienced players, and they are hopeful.

Assistant Coach Ceal Yost says the team “has a strong foundation for the future.”

Returning player, Tobias Ricks, 10, is ranked number one in singles play; Logan Casebolt, 11, is following at number two in singles, and Will Puskar, 12, is number three in singles.

Keshav Persaud, 10, and Josh Marosi, 10,  are ranked number 2 in doubles; Dominic Negron, 10, and Terrel Butler, 12, are ranked 3 in doubles.

Tyler Hanna, 11, Mason Ulmer, 9, Darius Quintana, 9, Jason Pritchard, 10, and Jessie Smith, 10, are ranked 4 in doubles.

Their next home contest is tomorrow against Whitehall in a make-up game from last week. Come out and support the team.
