Stroudsburg High School Varsity Track and Field competed for their first home meet at Ross Stulgaitis Stadium against Northampton High School Konkrete Kids on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. 

It would be the Mountaineer’s first official matchup of the season after scrimmaging at Parkland High School on Saturday, March 16th. 

Stroudsburg defeated Northampton in both the girl’s and boy’s matchups. 

The girls scored 104 to 46, and the boys scored 99 to 51. 

Several Stroudsburg athletes broke personal records and set great goals for themselves for the start of the season. 

Alena Murray, 11, Sydney Curry, 12, Ella Henritzy, 12, Sydney Moritz, 11, Kamrin Hock, 11, and Lindsey Pelaez, 12, were all high-scoring athletes. These events included running races, pole vaulting, throwing, and jumping.

Kamoni Smith-Johnson, 12, Kevin Polonia, 12, Ben Pilcher, 11, Josh Shuler, 12, Aiden Nieman, 11, and Logan Weitzmann, 12, scored high on the boy’s side. These events included running races, throwing, and jumping.

The team captains were also announced this week. The captains for the girls are Ella Henritzy, Lindsey Pelaez, and Sydney Curry. The captains for the boys are Logan Weitzmann, Josh Shuler, and Kevin Polonia.

The next home match is against Pocono Mountain East this Tuesday, April 9. Come out and support the boys and girls as they both look to win their second straight meet.
